Songkran in Thailand to go ahead next month - with some water splashing

I just find it ridiculous that for every other part of the country the festival is celebrated for 2, sometimes 3 days, yet Pattaya & maybe some parts of Bangkok we have to endure it for over a week nearly 10 days at times, perhaps with the lack of tourists this year the powers that be will scale it back to a few days.

And I'm certain that everyone knows that participation is voluntary, I volunteered to attend back in 05 I think, yep I had fun, but once was enough thank you, anyone needing to attend year in year out is lacking something somewhere.

Fortunately where we live now we are away from the mainstream entertainment areas with some conservative Thai families around us so it is mainly quiet.

Masks become useless when wet.

You either have Sonkran or you don’t.

There is no Songkran where you're masked, socially distanced, and miming water throwing.

If this actually is allowed to go ahead people will get a "release" alright.

Miming water throwing 555555 .. I will practice now .. You ready ??? .... Wooooosh ( That was half a basin full)
