BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has indicated he is planning to finalize a Cabinet reshuffle this month, calling it only a minor change.

He said that he has contacted the heads of coalition parties and asked for their candidates for the vacant ministerial posts, to be nominated within the month, so that vetting may begin and the process of appointments carried out. He called the reshuffle minor as no outsiders would be joining the Cabinet.

Meanwhile, Phalang Pracharat Party executives have held a meeting and empowered leader Gen Prawit Wongsuwan to choose their candidates. The party has put forward names for the posts of Minister of Education and Minister of a Digital Economy and Society with no outsiders proposed.

Bhumjai Thai Party has made known it will not request an additional ministerial quota and won’t trade off postings, as it is content with the offices it holds.

The Democrat Party has not yet reached a decision, as it is pending a meeting to follow a runoff election on March 7.

I thought that no one outside his ring of cronies was eligible to take part in this self promotion scheme anyway!
