Commerce Ministry Launches “Thailand Deliver with Safety” Campaign

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Commerce Ministry has launched the “Thailand Deliver with Safety” campaign to boost confidence in Thai products overseas amid the Covid-19 crisis.

The campaign aims to reassure buyers and importers that Thai agricultural produce, food products and halal food are Covid-safe due to high production standards from farm to plate.

As the global trade slowdown during the pandemic has impacted Thai exporters, especially in the food manufacturing sector where consumers are now prioritizing food safety, the ministry’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) is stepping up efforts to reassure global consumers that strict safety measures are imposed throughout Thailand’s food supply chain.

Meanwhile, four ministries – Commerce, Public Health, Agriculture and Cooperatives, and Interior – have joined forces to ensure Thai producers and exporters comply with Covid-19 Prevention Best Practice.

you see what happens when you let Thais have six plants?

He forgot to mention that the food hasn't been handled by illegal immigrants who work, under appalling conditions, at some of these food markets.

Why would consumers in a country several thousand miles removed from Thailand be concerned that their deep-frozen or tinned Thai food product might be tainted with the coronavirus? Correct processing (deep-freezing, pasteurizing, autoclaving, etc.) will kill the virus.

But how about heavy metals, antibiotics, hormones, preservatives, food colorings, MSG, etc. etc.?

And how about an assurance that the products are slave labor-free, particularly fish products?
