A village watchman trains his binoculars on a suspicious fishing boat — the first line of defence as Thailand braces for a fresh methamphetamine influx after a coup in neighbouring Myanmar.

The kingdom’s narcotics bureau has already seized more than 80 million “yaba” pills just in the past six months, a record haul partly blamed on a supply glut caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

At 50 baht a pill, everyone should be worried. Our village has had a big increase in drug fuelled violence this year, one killed and two in hospital in a very bad way. One lad has had half his face chopped off.

At 50 baht a pill things are not looking good.

How could it surge anymore millions of pills found  daily and kilos of ICE

Yabba dabble don't , of course banning untaxed alcohol makes such things inevitable for young who want kicks. Cannot even go down the pub today, Meth elated spirits then down the "hub".

only when the world realizes that they cannot arrest their way out of this problem will ideas be presented that may stem/mitigate addiction. The war on drugs has made this problem so much worse than it has to be. But until all the dinosaurs die off, and fresh ideas are examined, expect the same insanity to be in play till governments finally tire. All the world is doing is making drugs mafias the most lucrative in criminal history, and the worlds stupidity is as addictive as the product..
