PHUKET: Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has called for people to register to be vaccinated for COVID-19 in a push that he hopes to see 50,000 people in Phuket receive their first injection within seven days of the April delivery arriving on the island.

MAE SAM LAEP, Thailand (Reuters) - About a dozen people fleeing military air strikes in Myanmar were allowed to cross into a Thai border village on Tuesday to receive medical treatment, as Thailand's prime minister said authorities had asked others who fled to return.

Two helicopters, from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and an air force (RTAF) transport plane, have been helping to control forest fires in Doi Saket and Samoeng districts of Chiang Mai.
