The Thai woman who conned Japanese and Singaporean retirees to invest in a retirement scam has been arrested in Lat Krabang, Bangkok.

Along with her Japanese husband who helped to convince the victims, Warinthorn, 44, promised 10% returns on investment in providing loans to retirees to satisfy the 800,000 baht visa extension process.

She ran a company called Locomotion Tour plus a visa extension agency in Chiang Mai.

She was arrested at Yuklarat Condominium in Thap Yao, Lat Krabang in the Thai capital on a warrant and taken back to the Chang Pheuak police in the north.

Losses in the fraud are 30 million baht.

The news came from 77kaoded reporting on the activities of the Thai Tourist Police Bureau at a press conference at Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday.

No mention was made of the Japanese husband in the case.

10% is reasonable... but still should have gotten a prospectus.

Well done and hope they can recoup most of the money.

You'd think that before you did this you would check how much a visa agent gets for doing the same thing. If you are being promised 80,000 baht return for something a visa agent may do for 15-23,000 return then you would hopefully know your being conned.
