I have order a monitor I was not too sure about it size, before I made the order I contact the seller and he agree I will be able to return the product in case "change of mind" - which then I did choose to do since the monitor size was too big to my liking. I sent it back to shopee and then shopee decided to decline my return request and are going to ship the monitor back to me - even though I have provided then with evidence that the seller agreed to a return. very very disappointed with this and feels like I been tricked.

Don't understand how this has anything to do with Shopee - you claim an agreement with seller not Shopee.  You should be in contact with seller I would think.   Has seller agreed to the return to Shopee?  Do not believe 'change of mind' is a normal option for returns.

It's up to shopee to make the decision - not the seller. yes the seller had agree to a return in case I am not happy with the product before I made my order.

Shopee would make decision on wrong or defective item - but if you made an agreement outside the buying platform they are in no way responsible and they say so in terms of service I am sure.  I suspect the seller is not as willing as you believe.

I made the agreement via the shopee chat option

99% of the time when I give someone money in Thailand......I don't have the option of getting it back.  especially during covid where the economy isn't great.   next time get more pictures, videos, specs, whatever....

You dont say how long you used the item before returning it.

Did you pay cash on delivery or money up front? If paid by COD shopee does not release the money to the shop until it is confirmed by the buyer and is satisfied with the product.

Shopee is the intermediary and the return should first be requested through them by filling the online form and then getting their approval after they have arranged with the store owner. One does not just pack the item and send it back to shopee without first getting their agreement.

They will contact the supplier. get the return approved then send you confirmation to return the item.

Afaik to be able to return an item because of "change of mind", it has to be unopened and sealed.

Your item was probably opened, thus shopee refuses to accept the return for this reason.

Did you clarify with the seller that he will accept the return of an unpacked product?

I really would not like clients like you. But the shop agreed to it (are you sure there was no communication error).

I mean now the shop has to sell an already used product to someone else. They are losing money. I can't imagine a shop accepting this. I mean yes if you send it back right away not if you use it.

I don't know what is agreed i certainly as a seller would refuse clients like this.

I don't see the upside for the shop too much risk and hassle.

Shopee agreed to refund me on my first purchase from them as it was faulty, however the hoops I had to jump through to get my money returned, (to a bank account only, no credits), it just wasn't worth the hassle. So in the end they got 400 baht of my money for nothing, will never use them again, will stick with Lazada.

i always use a credit card here if i can here.  the Thai's have little understanding of what a return policy here is.  some want direct bank transfers which would obviate any post purchase recourse.  buyer beware in the LOS.

As I recall it was a one time sending of copy of bank paperwork clearly stating the reason on the copy was only for that purpose and to me was very well explained, secure and not that hard and have since had bank transfers returned when required with no drama.   There is no charge using bank transfers - unlike the FS charge I get when using foreign Credit Card on Lazada (since they stopped allowing bank transfers).

Use a debit or credit card, then the money goes back to the card.

Even when you Pay up front , Shopee doesn't pay the Seller unless you are happy with the product (they Will ask) or if you Not Answer shopee within a Certain time I think 4 weeks they will pay the seller .

How do I know ? I forgot one time to answer Shopee and they said ,answer Before a certain Date they said if not we will pay the seller .

Both Shopee and Lazada etc, should be held responsible for their customers, but I have found out that they are not.

I suspect you mean sellers as kind of hard to vet customers.   But to be fair there are a lot of bad apples in the customer camps also.

You do have to be very careful and check how long seller on platform and comments/ratings.   Something new find price often 3-5 times what it should be  as too many sellers are there 100 times with same high price in hope you will not check (as their high price covers multi pages).  Becoming useless for many things because of this.
