7 Dangerous Days: Day 4 - 29 killed, 392 people injured on Thailand’s roads

The fourth day of Thailand’s so-called ‘7 dangerous days’ saw 29 people killed and 392 people injured from 376 road accidents in Thailand, officials said on Wednesday.

Thailand’s soybean imports jump

BANGKOK, THAILAND — Thailand’s economy is rebounding from COVID-19 and is seeing a spike in feed demand and a need for soybean imports, according to a Global Agricultural Information Network (GAIN) report from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Phuket residents urged to protect themselves from COVID

PHUKET: Phuket Vice Governor Piyapong Choowong has made a special plea for residents in Phuket’s Muang District to take steps to prevent themselves from being infected with COVID-19, and especially follow what he called the three “iron rules” of preventing the virus from spreading.

Chula U students protest against strict controls at their dormitory

A group of Chulalongkorn University students have rallied in the compound of their dormitory to protest against the imposition of strict controls over their access to and from the dormitory between April 13th and 26th, arguing that the rules amount to a breach of their right to freedom of movement.

More high-risk venues closed in Prachuap Khiri Khan as new COVID-19 cases surge

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand reported 1,543 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, the sharpest increase since the start of the pandemic and the fourth record rise this week, amid a third wave of infections in the Southeast Asian country.

Phuket Airport bus passengers asked to present themselves for COVID test

PHUKET:-- All people who were on the Airport Bus last Friday (Apr 9) operating between Phuket International Airport and Bus Terminal 1 on Phang Nga Rd in Phuket Town on April 9 have been asked present themselves at a government hospital for a COVID test and to self-isolate and self-monitor themselves for signs of COVID-19 infection for 14 days.

Higher Education Ministry Turns 37 Campuses into Field Hospitals

Temple welcomes Thais celebrating Thai New Year

3 elephants killed by a falling Ta Khian tree in Chiang Mai during freak storm

Three elephants were crushed to death under the weight of a huge falling Ta Khian (Hopea Odorata) tree and three others suffered injuries at an elephant shelter in Mae Wang district of Thailand’s northern province of Chiang Mai on Wednesday, according to Thai Elephant Alliance Facebook page.
