It's developing into what the Thai's call a "drama" - maybe Donut-gate

Netizens went ballistic after a video and still pictures were posted on Facebook that showed a donut seller lose it with a complaining customer.

The customer was pushed over and fled the mall in Rangsit, north of  Bangkok.

Donut chain Krispy Kreme were quick to try and deflect any bad press.

Sanook said that the customer had been given the wrong order by mistake and started swearing.

The staffer apologized profusely but the customer would not let the matter rest. In the end she lost it and bundled the customer over.

Krispy Kreme said they were terribly sorry and would be contacting the customer to apologize and sort things out. The staffer would be questioned as to the truth and dealt with according to the law and company policy.

Meanwhile netizens took pity on the staffer with many saying she was a lovely person whom they knew.

Most thought she was pushed to the limit by a rude customer.

Sanook reported that #saveพนักงาน - #savepanakngaan - (save the staffer) was trending on Twitter.

Isn't the customer always right? Don't the companies bend over to reconcile wrong orders, and then take the loss on the chin.  Wait this is Thailand, and if the staffer makes a mistake it comes out of their pockets if memory serves me correct, just like the cash register, they have to make up any shortages. I am probably wrong though and the customers are not king and the staffers are never made to make up the differences.

I would appear as though the customer ‘had it coming’....

People make mistakes, getting an order wrong is hardly worthy of snapping off into an abusive tirade.

Of course, its poor form to respond but how many of us would stand there and take unnecessary abuse?

The customer isn’t always right, sometimes the customer is an A$$ and employees need protection from their company. Unfortunately this is likely to cost the employee their job.

I worked in a job serving the general public at 16 yo (now 69 yo)and swore that I would never do it again for this reason, should be more of it. ????

One on one, that's not very Thai!

The woman thrown to the ground is fully entitled to make a compliant of assault to the police. Her attitude might have been bad but staff should not take it upon themselves to attack people

i worked I retail and the food industry for many years as well. The things that come out of some people’s mouths were as amazing as they were disgusting at times.

I moonlighted in crowd control which helped to offset the frustration of being overly nice in my day job ????

Oh come on, your shopping for donuts not luxury millions of dollars handbags.

What’s the biggest mistake a staff can make when you are shopping for donuts? Giving you a chocolate donut when you asked for a glazed one?

I am sure had the customer asked politely the staff would have replaced the donut. Instead customer decided to make a fuss of it, and the staff responded improperly.

I would say cut the staff some slack. The customer isn’t always right, and money doesn’t always rule. There are línes that must never be crossed by either side.

No, this is a common misconception.

Some customers behave like pure scum, they don't like it when they get kicked out and told never to return.

Staffer 1-0 rude customer.

The customer is king/queen as long as they behave like one ... with grace and decency.

Assault.

Staffer attacked customer. Actually doesn't matter if it was a customer.

There's a time to walk away, if the customer is hell bent on being rude.

Just because they are rude, doesn't mean you should do jail time for their <deleted>ty attitude.

Maybe best for KK to offer the customer a free ride through the glaze waterfall as compensation.

I'm with the employee on this one - unruly customers deserve to be thrown out on their ear.

It's just a mixed up order at a donut shop - not a 3-star michelin restaurant
