JRG23
Was thinking of popping over to Pattaya for the weekend with the misses. Obviously, the attraction is the nice hotel selection. But will Central (and restarants inside) be open? Will restaurants outside be open? Is the beach open, and can you buy a beer at 7/11 and drink it on the beach? Any ideas? Cheers. Considering Bangkok started all this, why not stay there? Edited April 29, 2021 by jacko45k 1 1

Jeffr2
Restaurants and bars are closed. It's ghost town. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Depends on what you want to do.

jacko45k
Strikes me as a wind up... but just to add. Chonburi and Bangkok ( Bangkok, Chon Buri, Chiang Mai, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani and Samut Prakan) have been declared deep red zones with the most strict limitations. Travel from these areas is 'for necessity only'... although last time I don't think people were being actively blocked. If one is socially responsible, I would say stay home for now.

I went for my last meal last night (like a condemned man)... only a few other groups in the open air place I used. There seemed very little risk with the staff all masked up, only couples, a few with a kid or two, eating well separated outside.... but there is an AC room where I have seen groups of about 20 making merry and eating. The other side of the coin.

I was in the I rover last week(not a normal haunt) and despite them seemingly still charging 85 for a small beer it was quite full for a while. Since such a move will not cost them anything, there will be no hurry to lift these restrictions.
