Corolla 1993 spark plug cable boots

Featured Replies

A rat has gnawed one of the Spark plug cables on my old 93 corolla local runabout. I just want to replace the lead. Does the plug boot extension which grips the plug come away from the rubber top part, and how? Is it screwed in? I don't want to force it and cock it up as it is still firing. Thanks for any tips.

I would just repair the part where the rat chewed  with silicone sealer,

the wire inside is OK ?, then wrap some insulate with electrical tape

to finish it off, new wire would be the proper fix, but as you say might

be problem taking it apart.

And there's dozens more...  Maybe some of them discuss partial replacement?

This is where I got the pic. None of the sites I've found show if the boot disassembles.

Good luck with sorting it. I had one of those brand new back in the day. Nice to see them still running.
