Minivdo: A Full Scale Tsunami Evacuation Drill Is Set To Take Place In Mid July.

Featured Replies

A full scale Tsunami system and evacuation drill in the six Andaman coastal provinces is now scheduled to take place on July 25th. The National Disaster Warning Centre in Nonthaburi, and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation will work together with all six provincial governors to test out 79 warning towers in their respective areas. In Phuket, the vice Governor Tri Akkaradecha held a meeting with related agencies in preparation for the exercise. The drill will simulate a strong earthquake situation with tsunami warnings when the warning towers will be activated and tested out. All six provincial Governors will then take action according to operation plans to test out the efficiency of the system and evacuation drills.
