Popular Post Trujillo
I hate to rain on your parade, but how many of the positive test prisoners died? Don't we have that figure? Ah, right; perhaps it's because the number is zero? Nice work keeping the general public scared stiff. As long as the media and certain foreign blogger(s) keep associating positive test results with death, we will never get out of chasing our tail. "The wave from Songkran continues, and without folks understanding that without mass testing everywhere it keeps slithering along." I forgot; please explain to me again how more testing stops a virus from spreading? 2 1 1

So unless you have plans to be arrested and jailed in the near future you should be fine. The 2053 outside cases is what people need to focus on here, Are there no people working in the prisons which are going home, shopping, having family and friends ...? Your argument is seriously flawed.

Popular Post TallGuyJohninBKK
Round 1: March 18, 2021: Seventy seven foreigners test positive for Covid at Immigration detention centre Round 2: April 4, 2021: The Corrections Department has suspended visits to prisoners and detainees in all prisons, from Monday until May 5th, after over 100 prisoners and prison officials in Narathiwat and Surat Thani provinces were found to be infected with COVID-19. Round 3: May 13, 2021: the Department of Corrections admitted that nearly 3,000 detainees tested positive for Covid-19. I wonder if any Thai news reporters / outlets are going to connect these dots together, and ask the obvious questions that need to be asked? Surelynot
I imagine Thai prisoners are generally a pretty lean bunch, reasonably fit and youngish age profile......maybe they have survived the original covid virus because of these factors............ they might now have some immunity to survive the new variants...............I cannot see for the life of me, with their living conditions, that they could possibly have avoided being infected all this time. Wait: that's to fool the people. See, it's only 2,052, you are safe. The other ones don't count, you will never be in touch with them. Tomorrow headline will be: Massive drop in daily infections to just 2,443 Happy that they are now updating and reporting prison infections, as they should, of course. As for splitting todays total, I would have done the same so as not to mislead anybody. 2,052 new cases from yesterday as has been their standard practice for reporting and 2,835 new cases from a "period" of time leading up to then

Want to ask if you tried to point out the risk they were taking and was there any response? My wife will now no longer allow either of her 2 brothers anywhere near our house. One lived with us but he failed to take it seriously and he was politely asked to leave. He and his brother organise gatherings such as funerals and weddings, hiring out Karaoke etc so she rightly thought they were a high risk, to me in particular. He moved into the house next door where his brother has always lived. some 10 metres from us. Any attempt to convince them to take more care was just to be pooh poohed in return, like it was all a big joke. The village chief from the next village over announced that a local was coming home after several weeks in a Bangkok hospital having recovered from covid. He is currently doing hiis 14 days at home, but paranoia has already set in around his home. As someone mentioned, if it was me, the sole foreigner, I can imagine the reaction. Life in the villages can be brutal sometimes. 5
