Same thing happened to me, despite me never telling my bank that I was going abroad. Although, when I was in the UK I was using my debit and credit card several times a day and when that dropped down to never, they must have figured it out. I had my residual balance transferred to my Thai bank account.

Just been advised they are closing my account as no ties to UK. ------ 23 June closed.!  Ho hum

Some background info on how that came about may be useful to any other readers who have a TSB account?

They phoned me with various questions. They sent me an email requesting photos of self , wife passports - proof of address etc. They then said that as I no longer have ties to UK the account will be closed. I  have a considerable amount in the account. I gather it will happen to others. I opened a TW account.
