With public befuddlement rising, government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri stepped in on Thursday to put the issue to rest.

'befuddlement' - what an absolutely apt word to describe Thailand's vaccine program, roll out and delivery confusion

So you have to travel to a vaccination centre to register.........possibly infected.........travel home...... ...possibly infected.......return for your appointment.........possibly infected.......and then return home........possibly infected ......and repeat in three weeks.....all because they cannot get an app to work?

Is that correct?

if you didn't have before this there's a high possibility you will catch it at one of these super spreader venues - what then ?

I think I'll just wait until Madam gets the call and take her to the appointment. See what happens then with on-site registration.

Curiously, AFAIK, there was no mention made at this afternoon's EN news briefing on the status of, or plans for, the promised EN language version of the Mor Prom app.

Today it was all about registering in person at either the two above-listed vaccination centers in Bangkok or government hospitals in the provinces.

Thailand has been abuzz with talk of “walk-in vaccinations” for the past few weeks after top government figures indicated people could get jabs just by walking into vaccination centers. However, while the idea spurred interest, it also caused much confusion amid contradictory messages from authorities.

Confusion? Impossible. Not with the world-class Thai response as so many have told us repeatedly?

From another report:

"Meanwhile, prior to the announcement during the daily press briefing, Mr Natapanu tweeted to explain that a mobile app to facilitate registrations will now not be developed.

“We will allow people to register on-site for jabs. So, ‘on-site registration’ is replacing the term ‘walk-in’ to avoid confusion and misunderstanding,” he explained.

There was no misunderstanding... just another cock-up.

There is a distinct difference between walk-in vaccination and on-site-registration.
