What kind of snake is this little fellow, anyone knows?

Recommended Posts

Find a little baby snake 25 cm, just in front of the entrance of our house this evening , anyone knows what kind of spices this is , I have previously catch several Malayan  Pit Vipers here but this one I’m not sure of. Let me know if you know… By the way took the snake to a safe place and released it.03F11CA9-B4E8-49A6-94CD-DB2DFFDE588E.thumb.jpeg.31b261f27a4bdd1b1a438c9afecde064.jpeg

We have absolutely loads of Kukris with lateral stripes here, I nearly step on them almost daily... but I never saw a banded one like that. Interesting! What part of Thailand?

Found just outside of Pattaya, Chonburi

Banded Kukri snake, non venomous , live on frogs , toads and lizards, called Kukri due to shape  of

their teeth,  like a Nepalese Kukri knife.

regards worgordie,

Thanks for your help to identify the little fellow

Better of killing it —

— just to be on the safe side.

Even if venomous the time you are most likely to be bitten is in attacking it. If not in a place that is an immediate threat it will leave you alone if you do likewise.

I believe they slit the toad open, with their special teeth

and only eat the insides of the toad, its the toads skin

that is poisonous. clever eh.

Blue Peter Badge awarded to you 'drtreelove' for spotting a windup.????

Actually, I am a snake fan, having had a grass snake (aka legless lizard)

when I was a school boy.

So there .. .. .. ????

You probably intended to write "Slow Worm" which is truly a legless lizard. A Grass Snake is a true snake'

The snake is nice pattern...good looking snake.

Love seeing many different snakes, lizards and turtles here in Thailand. We don't get that variety in the UK.

I have always had pet snakes too...at the moment have corn and king snakes. Also had ball pythons in the past.
