all depends in what country one does it...

or worse still the Illuminati Salute...

Tempest in a teapot.

So many people nowadays seem to be looking for any excuse to be offended.

Yes like all those foreigners when Anutin made his remark.

Strange that i hear Thais can't be offended but the resident foreigners here certainly blew a fuse over his remark.

You either judge both as wrong or neither.

Not sure if you said anything about Anutin but this is just a general remark.

Serbian volleyball player apologizes for slant-eye gesture towards Thai team

Really not as bad as you might imagine from the reporting. The gesture was made to a teammate, just a fleeting joke and not a provocation to the other team. They have a robust sense of humor in the Balkans that has not yet been beaten down by cancel culture.

Cracking lass.

Here's what we all want to see?

I don't.

Why would I want to see a picture of someone making an ignorant, racist gesture?

How is that message conveyed by pulling your eyes into a slit?

It can't be, clearly she was lying when she invented that BS excuse.

For the same reason that you decided to read an entire thread about someone making an ignorant, racist gesture.

Nonsense.

Profound comment.

It says a lot about the psychology of those who are quick to take umbrage at little things like this.

Racism is never a little thing…

Not if you spend your every moment on this forum desperately searching for ways to signal your virtue.

Back in reality, meanwhile, characterizing a foolish joke by a young woman as "racism" merely dilutes the term beyond any meaning and hurts the fight against actual, real racism.

Oh dear, you don’t like having things pointed out to you, do you?

Oh and there should be zero tolerance for any racist gesture.

What have you pointed out?

Six posts on this page alone, all frantically signallying your virtue.

This is all you ever seem to do on this forum. Pathetic.

This is why you Social Justice Warriors will fail. You interpret perfectly normal human errors as an excuse to cancel people and destroy lives. People are starting to notice the robotic lack of nuance. They are finally starting to see your mob behavior for what it is: hypocritical bullying, by a tiny group of disenfranchised losers, desperate to demonstrate power at any possible opportunity.

It was a racist gesture and no real attempt to admit mea culpa on the part of the person who made it, just a pathetic attempt at excusing it away.

It deserves all the condemnation being made.

Self-appointed "zero tolerance" enforcers have the same mindset as the gauleiters did in Nazi Germany.

So It is a thing with these Serbianas they have been doing it for years. Any women of color on this team? They are insensitive to overt white supremacist gestures and taunts, all a joke to them I guess.

I won't be visiting Serbia any time soon.

Buncha supremacists!  Not a single short, fat, or ugly chick on the team...

The Thai players should have responded by  mouthing the words:

'Srebrenica, Srebrenica, Serbian mass murderers'

That would presume a knowledge of history that 99% of Thais seem to be blissfully ignorant of.

True, but it might have shut those ignorant imbeciles up.

C'mon bro, you're being too harsh.

My comment about Thais might have sounded that way too, but I love Thais... lived among them most of my adult life and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

I'm a bit surprised how many forum members condone the gesture. I'm pretty sure if a Thai had done something equally low-key racist to a farang on the BTS, there would be outrage.

what non-verbal gesture would be equally low-key racist to a farang? I am curious....
