In that case I’ll still forgo the fetid rumors and put in the bucket marked ‘unknowable’. 1
Danderman123
We still don't have a lot of information. Any data indicating that bats don't carry something very similar to the Covid virus tells us that the Batwoman didn't do it, since she just collected bat guano. I suspect that anyone in Wuhan who tried to modify existing bat viruses is long dead.

The WHO has just appointed a new international scientific panel (including Chinese and American members) to conduct another investigation into the origins of the Sars-Cov-2 virus. Hopefully this one will bet some traction. Washington Post has some interesting reporting from the southern China karst caves today but unfortunately behind a paywall. They may give it out as a freebie so check it out if interested.????

I am not sure if these are what the previous poster was referring to, but here are a couple of links: The WHO has a bold new plan to find covid-19’s origins. China could get in the way. And this: How the hunt for this deadly virus shaped the search for coronavirus’s origins https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2021/10/14/how-viruses-jump-from-animals-to-humans/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2021/10/14/who-covid-origins-problem/

I did read these articles. In the end, if China doesn't cooperate, we'll never find out. Sucks, as finding out how this occurred would really help to prevent future outbreaks. But until they deal with their ridiculous wet markets, outbreaks like this will continue.
