I am planning to come to Thailand for 45 days in July of this year as I am fully vaccinated.

Here my interrogations regarding the phuket plan:

1. Have they made a clear statement about what options might toursits have to go from the airport to their hotels ? I am worried they might oblige people to pick a taxi which  would cost a 500 baht or more  for a ride to Patong  (In my case, I have a friend who can come pick me up, but i don't know if that would be possible in this case)..

2. What is the price range of a PCR test in Phuket ?  Are we obliged to do the PCR test from the ASQ+ hotel where we stay?  If i am not mistaken, we will have to do a PCR test at the arrival in the hotel and on the 14th day leaving the hotel?

3. A part from the tests and potentially paying the taxi, are there other charges that we might pay ???

I find it really unjustful to have some hotels propose their services at 1-2€ at agoda.com and others because they have the ASQ+ logo seeing their price jump to 15-30€/ night...

the first test would rather be at the airport, a rapid one.

That's running on phuket since april, I think for foreigners it's 500b.

Yes, you friend can pick you up, but probably all paperwork, testing can take extra 1h.

You have to book hotel, but you don't have to stay there. In that case choose the cheapest possible one.

The final testing at hospital, not likely they would be coming to hotels almost everyday to test a handful of tourists.

Be prepared for quarantine, as long as it takes, if any test turns positive. They said it's "the end of holiday".

Delay your travel as long as possible, still too expensive and too many unknowns. This project can be terminated at anytime

If 500bht cab is out of your range best don,t bother!

There is no reason for me to pay 500 bht as i know it costs less... I travelled many times to Phuket and I never paid more than 250 baht for a ride from airport to Patong...  What bothers the most here is not the amount of money, but the people who would try to rip you off in these circumstances....

I had a similar story last time I travelled to Istanbul ( October 2020), I needed to do a PCR test, so i searched online and I found a hospital that proposes a test for 250 lira = 25€ , when I went there , because i was a tourist, they told me it costs 500 lira , I told them that is what is written in their webiste: Their answer: the price changed since 2 days lol  ..... So, I never did the test and went to another center and there i got an ugly bold man who proposed me a test for 1750 lira = 175€ (not even for a fast delivery, i needed to wait one day to get the results) .... So, I figured out that people will always try to rip you off when they see you are a tourist,  in the end I did the test at the airport for 250 lira = 25€ ....

Long story short, what pisses me off is overpricing things when thinking you are enough dumb to pay for that .....
