Online teacher chef was cooking up a con - many lost millions in face mask scam

Police from the crime suppression division caught up with a woman called Sasinada Wechpracha outside a convenience store in Waeng Yai sub-district of Khon Kaen in Thailand's north east yesterday, reported Daily News

 

Daily News said that using the name Khru Orm (teacher Orm) she had operated a well known online page on Facebook using the name Sasinada Weachpracha. It was for teaching the cooking of cakes.

 

Thaivisa found a page in the name of Wechpracha Sasinada where fancy cakes were posted. 

 

She was served with two warrants - one for defrauding the public and posting false information issued in Khon Kaen and one for fraud issued in Rayong.

It is alleged that she offered to sell cooking goods and surgical face masks during the pandemic but failed to deliver them.

 

Some people lost a million baht, reported Daily News. 

 

The suspect had been hiding out in Khon Kaen before her arrest.
