More BS from these clowns it was only a week ago that China stated it’s borders would remain closed until 2022 the Phuket sandcastle is an absolute joke having to pay for everything even before you set foot into the country the only people coming will be fools with money to waste . I can’t wait for tomorrow to arrive to see the PM greeting the so called 1,000s who have apparently booked to come to Phuket

It will be a mass media event shown around the world.  My daughter in the US wants to head to Phuket but when she saw the logistics, she instead said, next year Dad, next year, but maybe you can come home before then for a vacation and we will take the sailboat out to the island here in Washington.

Chinese tourists will return to Thailand in October.

Not unless there are no quarantine requirements, zero restrictions, no additional costs and of course if Thailand has vaccined the country.

So, they ain't coming in October.

We all remember when the Thai tour operators were very vocal in slagging the Chinese tourists cos they never spent any of their money in Thai businesses, they were dirty, bad mannered and very loud. spitting in the street, and they didn't want them here.  Bit different now !!

I don't miss the Chinese for a second. They got us into this mess and everyone has suffered as a result. Their vaccine is of the lowest standards. I certainly hope that their return can be prolonged as long as possible. They should not be heralded as economic saviours.

You are their competitors, totally logical for you not to miss them and your opinion has 0 value. But tourist-dependent businesses love them.

It's a bit confusing, Thailand is on a list of 75 countries published 3 June.

Non-essential travel is prohibited.

Think they have a 14 day quarantine in-bound (returning to China).

Maybe by October this will change?

Didn't we all agree to stop posting this meaningless rubbish. Slow news day?

Not true.. Chinese people said in a survey some time back, that they only wanted to come to Thailand if it was 6 months covid free... besides that Chinese people have to get in quarantine if they come back for a few weeks... So fake news again. The Chinese don't come in October.. maybe they want to come yes, but not in a short term

That's after they started all this <deleted> in the first place!????????????????

Prayuth Chan-o-cha's grand reopening of the country in 120 days.

So it was "in 120 days" 2 weeks ago?

Then it was "in 120 days" last week?

And today it still is "in 120 days"?

What is that, a Thai-style Groundhog Day?

At the current rate of injections there isn't a chance in hell of the borders opening in mid Oct. To date only 6.9M have had the 1st jab, which represents 13% of the adult population of ~53M... To meet the Czars target, the 1st jab would need to be ~344K per day. They have only bettered that number twice (7th, 8th June) which was the 1st 2 days of the mass vaccine rollout. The weekend numbers for injections are a joke...

The Chinese also said that they would not travel to any  Country that had not given at least 70 % of its population full Vaccinations.

A deputy at the Tourism Council of Thailand told Thai Rath that Chinese tourists would start returning to Thailand from October.

To a largely un vaccinated nation... they will be confined to certain areas and good luck with the paperwork.

Maybe nobody told the deputy about the above restrictions?
