Another announcement by the governor of Udon Thani refers to the fact, that:

  • arriving from a orange or red zone area requires a vaccination (complete programme, i.e. mostly two jabs) which have been administered at least four weeks ago
    • this is impossible, as we know, since the vaccination mania started on 7 June 2021 only for the first jab
  • not being vaccinated as per above interpretation requires 14 ASQ quarantine

Unclear is:

  • does it apply to any entry into Udon Thani or transit through Udon Thani to a third province?
  • does it apply only to non-residents of Thailand (i.e. tourists)? A rough guess would assume that 90%+ of travellers have had no vaccination (yet)

Does anyone have more details or can confirm the above? Asking as I do regular trips to Udon (for shopping) from Nong Khai and will be transiting to Pattaya next week and return the following week. I hold bookings from/to Bangkok Souvannaphoum but, if latter is not possible, would opt travelling by car - trip is necessary for a family affair; thanks ????
