Hi guys,

I'm on NON-O married visa and have work permit based on this visa.

As everyone knows there are 22 nationality that must have go back to their home country and apply for NON-B at Thai embassy in their home country. Well, im 1 of that 22 countries. So normally if i need to change my visa non-o to non-b i must leave the country, go back to my country and apply to thai embassy there. and come back to thailand and extend it here.

But because of covid do i still do the procedure like the one i told you or i can change my visa non-o to non-b here without leaving the country?

thanks

Are you on a 90 day entry from a non-o visa or a one year extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon marriage?

If on a extension of stay you can change the reason for your extension from marriage to one for working without leaving the country.

Why do you want to change the reason for your extension of stay? You can work with a extension based upon marriage.

Hi,

I got my non-o from laos and now im on 1 year extension based on this non-o also my work permit is on this visa too. So its not 90 day entry visa anymore. And i must extend it 2nd time end of july.

I want to extend it using work... lets say personal reasons. There is no other reason. Also i dont want to use agency and pay to them every year.

My understanding from your reply is that this is possible and i will still be on non-o but my extension will be based on my work and work permit. Thats good news.

Also i want to ask again, as you know some 22 country must leave thailand and do all paper work for non-b at their home country at thai embassy. Cannot do at laos or any other country. Will this still be an issue or no need to leave thailand even though your one of these 22 countries? Again from your reply my understanding is that no need to leave because im doing an extension for work but not changing my visa type? Also this time because my extension will be based on work.. is it like my non-o will mean nothing anymore and must leave the country if i get fired?

Thanks again

Who told you that. I am not aware of such a rule only for non-b visas. There is a list of countries that can only apply for any visa in their home country. List is here on the Kuala Lumpur embassy website. https://kualalumpur.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/visa-requirement-ii

You will be changing the reason for your extension of stay. You do not need a new visa do that.

 Thanks for the answer.

3 immigration, khin kaen, chang wathana and nonthaburi, told me that there are 22 countries ,dont know all of them only know turkey, bulgaria and hungry, that these nationalities cannot do nonb in near thailand countries but must do in their home countries to do nonb. Nono is ok. Nonb cannot. This wqs told me about 4 5 years ago.

Also the list you provided seems to be changed.. some countries added and removed. Thanks for the info again

Four or 5 years ago things may of been different. Not sure where that got their info from since they only issue visas if you are on a tourist, transit visa or a visa exempt entry.

You do not need to worry about it since you will not be applying for a visa.
