I’ve found myself in a very confusing  and stressful situation. I entered Thailand a few years ago on a university ED Visa, I finished my BA degree in June and cancelled my ED extension. I then went onto a 60 day Covid extension at Chaengwattana.

I have my official transcript from the university and a stamped letter stating I have completed all requirements for the BA, and am awaiting graduation (and the actual degree certificate).

I currently have 30 more days left on my Covid extension but am hearing reports of other people who cancelled ED extensions being told they cannot apply for more Covid extensions, I was hoping to use these until the end of September.

I am trying to apply for a Non B and went for a police check 2 weeks ago, but my prospective employer said that Nakhon Pathom immigration insists on the original degree certificate and will not accept the official transcript and stamped letter  to obtain a Non B (I was told by other ex students they got Non B’s using the official transcript). The degree certificate was meant to be ready late June but has been delayed due to Covid and it is uncertain when I will get it (maybe August).

So, my questions are, what can I do to stay until late September if Covid extensions are becoming difficult to get?
And do I really need the original degree certificate to apply for a Non B within Thailand?

You will not be able to apply for a non-b visa at immigration. Immigration only issue them if you entered the country with a tourist visa or visa exempt entry.

You should be possible change the reason for your extension from attending a university to one based upon working for a company or teaching.

Unless teaching there is no requirement to show a degree or transcript.

There is no official restriction on getting a covid extension due to being on a non-ed visa and the an extension of it.

It is for teaching, so a transcript or  degree are needed, or both?

Once the Covid extension has been changed from attending university to working (teaching) will I then we able to apply for a Non B?

You can not apply for any non immigrant visa while in the country. You will just apply for a extension based upon teaching after having a work permit application done an approved.

The immigration rule for the extension does not really state what exactly is required.
