webfact Posted July 16, 2021 Share Posted July 16, 2021 Picture: Daily News Daily News reported that large numbers of Thai people queued all night to register for Moderna vaccine after Bangkok Hospital on the Mitraphap - Nong Sarai Road in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, made an announcement on their website. Some waited from 8 pm Wednesday until 8 am on Thursday morning. One person could make 6 bookings but there were only 400 doses of the vaccine of choise available at the private hospital. Registration was full within half an hour and many people were left disappointed. The hospital said they would announce again if and when registration is reopened. Daily News said that there was a clear feeling among the crowd that they didn't want Sinovac jabs. This means, notes ASEAN Now, that they are prepared to pay what the Thai Private Hospital Association have announced as 3,300 baht for two shots of Moderna vaccine. This is about ten days wages based on minimum wage. Now it's more mahem with Sinovac being practically useless and the Astra Zeneca distribution being cut 60%. All the while the GPO still hasn't ordered Moderna for the Private hospitals yet. This consisted of us writing our names, phone numbers, and passport/ID card number on a paper on a clipboard, with about 6 other poor farmer looking types at 8 am.
