BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered health agencies to speed up antigen tests and home isolation measures to treat COVID-19 patients amid rising COVID-19 infections in Bangkok and surrounding provinces.

Government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said patients will be treated at home or in the community in high-infection areas, such as Bangkok and the surrounding provinces, while patients in other provinces could be treated as normal in hospitals and field hospitals.

He said more home isolation and community isolation measures would help reduce the number of patients in hospitals, where beds are in short supply. More antigen self-testing kits will also be provided for home use.

In addition, the Public Health Ministry will send a Comprehensive COVID-19 Response Team, comprising doctors, nurses, public health officers, volunteers and officers from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) to take care of patients in isolation.

Which you will not be allowed to buy or use, as they are only for trained and experienced medical personnel, since apparently "common people" are unable to understand a 10 picture tutorial.

Good work again from Khun Prayut Chan O Cha.  He's obviously concerned about the numbers and is pushing departments to act accordingly.

Great stuff Steven. I used to think there was a chance you were serious but your continued unwavering support of the PM through this debacle has made it clear that you are in fact an excellent wind up merchant.????

Well done for keeping it up so long. Excellent entertainment value.????

Home testing would help the spread off covid. Who wants to spend 2 weeks in the hospital for testing positive with no symptoms. At least with home testing asymptomatic people could self quarantine and would improve the number of tests and hopefully reduce the spread in asymtomatic people to others.
