Hello--

Just had a quick question as I did not see it with a random search.  If you have a business rental agreement for an office and under the current pandemic and shutdown and pending / full shutdown looming--  is there a legal way to get out of the rental contract?  If for example--you paid two month security deposit, can you take this towards the last two months of rent and then live on a good note?     I just see so many businesses now not able to stay open and I'm wondering what is happening to all of these lease agreements?  Surely the Government has initiated a "clause" that semi protect the businesses effected by this situation? Your help is appreciated ..

The government is giving financial assistance to businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Whether a lease contract can be terminated prematurely for the reason of force majeure depends on whether such clause is included in the contract.
