What a total waste of time, if he was Thai nothing would have been done. Around here a very small percentage of people are wearing masks, nothing is done about it. Just another farang bashin

A tool and his money are soon parted, and I await the people who will arrive and say it was race based in arresting him and not because he was an insolent sob.

Guy should have just put a mask on to shut them up.

There isn't that fear up country! Or the gear to turn in or rat on your neighbours. It's a very bkk and pattaya thing to do.

Sorry what is the view with which you disagree? That there were no racist comments or that no one stated that he was arrested or even targeted on video because he was black.

If there is a post that suggests that he was targeted for not wearing a mask because he was black, then quote or link to it. No need to request that someone trawls through a thread to find it. I say it didn't happen and you say it did, so post the evidence.

I posted on the thread, so I am confident in my statement. In fact my post on that thread is the most 'Liked'. You go back and see.

But there were posts calling him a Black 'this and that' that were removed and you know it. But no posts claiming the he was discriminated against by bystanders or anyone involved at the time would need to be removed, so they should still be there. Show me.

What I agreed to disagree with while maintaining civility was your view that posters who posted are dirty racists Additionally, I disagree with the fact that you have been making personal attacks against those that do not agree with you.  Agreeing to disagree is not disingenuous as you also indicated, but in using proper decorum.  The Individual who was arrested was indeed being racist in the statements he was making and trying to goad the other person into an altercation.  My view and one which will not change.  Have a good weekend.

Agreed, mask enforcement only appears to happen in places where there are plenty of foreigners to fine. My gated village (1000 people, 1 foreigner) nobody gives a poop if anyone wears a mask or not, even the security guards are 50% mask less.

so if everyone had a mask on except them, how does that effect them ? Masks make you safe from Covid, don't they ?

not saying he is right or wrong, but why does it bother you, as long as you are wearing the mask ?

Well even after the phifzer vaccine double dose their is  a 90% chance of getting infected with the virus after 5 months. So we are all going to get corvid virus or  masked or in unMasked.

Go read the new Israeli data of new infections

Just another farang bashing episode, having said that the man is as fool for not wearing a mask.

Did you bother watching? He is indoor in a small space at the launch of Taco Bell and threatening to kick peoples head in, insulting everybody when they are remaining calm and polite. He got off very lightly

Quote: "he's fined and repentant".

or, more accurately,

"he's fined and repugnant"

He's only 'repentant' until he walks out the door of the police station

Why would Immigration be involved?

Surely it would be a matter for the local plod?

Not my worry.  I wear my mask, obey the rules and leave the seif-annoited expats to pass judgement.

Someone always has to be a dumbass.  I mean, it takes a minute to put on your mask, get your order, and leave.  I hate people who make something simple into a complicated mess.

But he hadn't broken any immigration rules , so he should have been spoken to by " normal " police.

I recorded the event live.  I was there.  I posted on YouTube, and you are correct  many came on and said it was race, the thing is everyone else had on mask except for him and his white Russian girlfriend

Did the white girl also get charged then or just the black guy?

Pattaya, a magnet for quality fallangs.

Apologies for my butting in, but I read some of the comments here. Calling someone a "Black &^*&^%@" is not racist, in your opinion?

Perhaps you did not see any one those comments yourself.

So here is your opportunity to give your opinion on such comments. Racist or not?

But you do seem to have changed your tack from theracist posters here being racist to Taco Bell guy being racist.

I think his behaviour was disgusting. But that is no excuse for the racist comments. What do you think now that you know that some of the comments specifically targeted his colour?

In real life, words often change their meaning. I have seen the word ‘farang’ used by Thais to address to different kind of foreigners.

Kon Farang is used for people of European descent.
Kon Kerk is used for people of Indian, Middle East, and African descent.

Are these racist terms?  Thailand seems to get a complete pass from the rest of the world regarding it's racism.

and the Army , Navy and Air Force are part of the Armed forces , but each wear different uniforms that determine what part of the force they represent and the job they do. I wouldn't think that the Immgration Police are competent in the rules of the civilian world , as the local police would not be competent in the rules of Immigration. Hence seperate uniforms.

Maybe the Police should vist the ground floor of Hua Hin Market Village and arrest the old farang who hangs around there near the entrance and does not wear a mask.

the clowns can not get their act together so they deflect their incompetence by making this news worthy.  pathetic how they will not take responsibility here.  this is a cultural problem with deadly consequences and it will not change.  loss of face cost lives, and life is cheap in Asia.

Why can't they say foreigners?

That pesk "r" that is pronounced as an "l".  Plural 's' that they can't pronounce.
Farang is easier.  <laughs>

Common Sense don't count

A simple sign at the door and throughout the facility would have (maybe) nipped this is the bud. NO MASK, NO SERVICE   what would be so hard about that??  Was the staff  intimidated by something, because he was served.  or maybe he had a mask on while inside the facility, and took it off on his way out??  Too many unknowns, but but but, I think the subject has been kicked around long enough.........

Inconsiderate and against the current Thai laws.

By not wearing a mask this man is imposing his world/desires upon others with out their consent and he was confronted with that vey fact.

He is a guest in a country that has a different culture with different laws than in his home country.

I would venture say if I was to go to his house he would expect/require me to behave in a manner that is respectful to him, his family, his countries laws and his community.

Covid is no game! It can seriously hurt people.

There were 2 twitter videos taken inside the Taco Bell as well.  He did not wear a mask ordering either.  Employees I have seen will politely ask you to wear a mask, but will not make you leave.

The guy should have been wearing a mask like everyone else. He was asked politely to put one on and this kind of guy can’t accept that. His reaction and provokation as a result was way over the top and he seemed like a bully.

happy to hear that it wasn’t left to lie.

Most of these places now have employees who sit outside the shop. I understand not being allowed to go into a private business while violating their policy. I think he has a point otherwise. Those outside employees could take his order and give it to him outside. Seems we should encourage people to stay outside if we truly want to follow the science. Outside/outdoor infections have been shown to be much less prevalent.

He started inside.  Thats when he told the man in blue shirt to step outside

Sad that a countrymen brought his Murica attitude to Thailand
