Seems like his been listening to ignorant Thai people, so I doubt very much if he would listen to you anyway, probably best just to say "Up to you"

Don't bother.

You can't fix stupid.

If he breaths in air, then he is at risk.

Vaccine for the young - less risk.

End of.

Ask him how old is siblings are, his parents, his grandparents, his aunts, his uncles, his cousins, his neighbours, his friends families, if anyone in his/his friends extended families or neighbours have existing health issues and then ask him how he would feel if he caught it and passed it on to these people and they died with the resulting consequences for those left behind.

Then explain although he may still catch it and be contagious the chances are less than if he's unvaccinated.

Then ask him to read reliable sources on the pros and cons of the current vaccines and about "long covid".

If he then still can't see it's not just about him, bid him and his family good luck.

Bt100 per jab would probably swing it!

Take him to an emergency room and have him watch the patients coming in for a hour or two.... if they will let him.

I'd explain statistics about him travelling in his Dad's car or on brother's motorbike

The other dynamic  as far as what's real  or not ! Many Thai's ,especially young ones ,get their news from social media !

I suppose this is what they call a catch 22 situation.

Yeah, you don't want anyone getting news from a source that isn't controlled by the government!

Smart boy for asking questions! Too often i see people just doing what they are told by people in authority.

I am sure this boy will find the answers himself.

Is he yours? Box him in the ear. He isn't? Box him anyway.

Disagree with most people here.

The kid is making a cogent argument based on incomplete information. That's a strong sign that he'll listen to reason if you give him the complete picture.

All he's missing is that people his age do get sick and die from COVID-19 so unless he has a low chance of getting infected, the probability he dies from covid-19 is greater than the probability that he dies from the vaccine.

Tell the minor to do what he's told and when he's an adult to make his own mind up. My kids never asked about their other vaccines during childhood. Mind you they were only 6 months old so couldn't speak at the time. They weren't too happy about the jabs, bawled their little eyes out but science makes sense.

Tell him Thai girls get the 'hots' for boys that have been vaccinated - apparently, it makes their willy bigger.....

Tell him not to get hung up about it, there are millions in the queue in front of him anyway. He will be safe in the knowledge that when Thailand does get round to giving him a jab in 2024, we should know a little more about its long term effects (if any. )

That kid may be a lot smarter than people think.

Depending on the province, it may take more than an hour or two, and you'll be exposing him to Covid-infected people.  I've found that it's very easy to hang outside E/Rs in Thailand, in their outside waiting areas where they unload their patients.  The busy ones have nurses who do triage outside so you get a clue as to the patient's problem, while you're waiting for your Grab driver to pick you up.

Personally, I don't think this is a good idea, at least for Covid vaccination.  It is a good idea to convince someone to wear a motorcycle helmet.

I think the boy has a valid point . Only point he perhaps does not understand is that he could become asymptomatic and pass covid to who ever he meets and of course his family . This may change his way of thinking .

Because he can help not spread the virus

I wouldn't bother.  Vaccines haven't been approved for children.

Only 18 and over.

He'll be older and wiser by the time he's able to get vaccinated in Thailand.

maybe a little harsh without knowing why he has that opinion,  from my observations where are probably  millions of stupid people world wide who have the same opinion that was and still is being demonstrated daily if you care to read the foreign news -

This Thai boy is smart and knows a lot more than most old foreigners in this country !

I support him and will also never vaccinate !

People who do not want to die just have to protect themselves !

Do you know anybody smart who got covid ? I DON'T ! All people that I know who got covid didn't do half of the correct things to protect themselves.

Happy to find some smart Thai people !

Are they stupid just because they think different than the masses ? or because unlike the massed they are able to think ?
