Good afternoon.

I resided in Thailand for four yrs till recently. My Thai wife and her two teen children are still there. I returned to Aust for medical reasons. We are in the process of compiling a 309 visa for her and the kids. I’ve spoken to a migration agent in Perth…very expensive, and will try to run it ourselves, has anyone on here had or having issues with Aust Immigration or can provide worthwhile suggestions on what I need to look at / add to the applications. I’ve read the refusal rate is very high AND the fees are non refunadable. TIA

I assume you have a legally registered marriage and not just a temple ceremony. Rejection rate has been provided elsewhere and in fact is low. Documentation requirements are made clear, just a matter of ploughing through the questions. Depending on their age, if the children are from your wife's prior relationship, you will need to ensure the appropriate paper work / permissions are obtained. Due to Covid travel restrictions into Australia, likely the process will take up to two years. Wife and children will need to provide proof of full Covid vaccinations approved by Oz government as well as the children's Thai vaccination certificates in order to attend school in Oz.

if you have more questions member Will27 should be able to assist. Fees are non refundable - Best of luck.
