Who said people cannot go to work did you read the reports on their lockdown, it does not mention stopping people from going to work unless they were part of the closed businesses order. I'll carry on believing the reports on the lockdowns they've had, thanks anyway: "The Lao authorities have announced an easing of lockdown restrictions in provinces with no COVID-19 infections. Most businesses (including gyms/spas, sports facilities, night markets, tourist attractions, restaurants, shopping malls, retail shops and food markets) may open if COVID preventative measures are in place. These may include providing alcohol gel, face masks being worn, 1m physical distancing and checking temperatures. However, some entertainment venues remain closed and the sale of alcohol is prohibited." Edited August 16, 2021 by Bkk Brian

Weerasak has been outstanding in the fight against Covid under very difficult conditions, and I wish him well for a speedy and full recovery. Maybe this will highlight " Long Covid " among the Thai people, as it is something that is very real, and has been given no attention at all by the Authorities. Its also not given attention by many of the foreigners on this board who want nothing more then to open things up and only count the deaths. I fear long coivd far more then death as it has a far higher occurrence 10% i read somewhere and months of recovering does not sound like a simple flue.

Slowing down is the best we can hope for. 2

Covid is not a simple Flu, and many of those on this Board have their own agenda for opening things up From the Beer and Birds brigade to the people who have Business interests. Long Covid is also ( IMO ) the most horrible of things that could possibly happen to a person who has contracted Covid. The symptoms vary according to the severity of the Long Covid, but its fair to say that anybody that gets it is in for a great deal of pain and anguish over many Months.
