Daily News reported on the latest Covid-19 crisis meeting at City Hall in Bangkok yesterday.

The Thai capital's governor General Aswin Kwanmuang met with officials and health staff to discuss the current situation.

Top of the agenda was the governor's plea to all 50 districts to proactively go out in search of the vulnerable to get them vaccinated.

These are the elderly,bed-ridden and fragile who may not be able to get themselves into vaccination centers. Some of these might be living in dwellings where they are not registered so need to be found rather than assumed they will seek help.

The general also pressed for more equipment including PPE for frontline teams so that further infections among them can be limited.

More face shields, masks, protective gear, rubber gloves, cloaks and boots were needed for people like refuse collectors, road sweepers, mobile toilet staff and people repairing klongs along with workers involved in Covid-19 prevention measures.

Flood prevention measures - a perennial Bangkok hot chestnut - were also discussed at the meeting.

I think it's very good that the BKK governor is thinking ahead, get his teams out there to get to the bedridden & elderly and those who probably have no access to the internet & information available online, you residents should be putting your hands in your pockets to help pay for all that new PPE.

???? just joshing about putting your hands in your pockets.

The rest is an excellent idea & puts the junta in the sort of light they should be seen in, a very bad light.

If it does than those falling in vulnerable categories will no doubt be able to take great delight in informing those who have "proactively sought them out" that their previously-successful registrations on the Expatvac website have now been subsequently rejected by the MFA "due to lack of required visas"!
