Positivity Rate and Daily Testing

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the test positivity rate and how many tests are being done daily in Thailand? Where is that info posted?

I think that yesterday there were about 50,000 tests so the positivity rate is more than 40% which must be one of the highest in the world. Various data are shown at https://ddc.moph.go.th/covid19-dashboard/,  the number of tests is the last bloc in brown.

Yes, very high proportion of daily positive covid cases, probably the highest case rate in the world as of Aug 20.

Interesting to note that Thailand's covid testing rate has increased only fractionally since recording data but covid positve case rates have soared recently, (>42% on 13-AUG) after looking at the data in the link you provided. These numbers are very troubling for Thailand, (or any country).

It’s difficult to compare test results between nations as each has its own test policies.

Example:

Random testing will reveal data on the extent of infection in a society.

Symptom prompted testing reveals higher positive outcomes but does not provide insight into the extent of the disease in wider society.

Thanks for that. I wondered where people were getting the testing figures.

That represents total tests (PCR+ATK), or just PCR? If you happen to know.
