Probably a combination of things, ongoing treatment, so they know you, you have a pink card so you are long stay, being a farang less likely to be an issue for payment. Add all that together and not a high risk for them, I would suggest.

I went to the government hospital short of cash. It was night time and cashier agreed with my wife to take her credit card the next day.

For a minute there I thought you were talking about a private hospital.

Back to reality.

That was nice of them.

Nice things happen to nice people. Thessaban came to my house to make appointment for vaccine.

Yes, government hospitals are often sympathetic. My wife and sister-in-law often arrange to pick up prescribed medicines for relative who are too sick, or lazy, to go to the hospital.

I have a friend who had a heart attack about 5 years ago and was taken to the local government hospital. They stabilised him and the doctor said he needed an urgent operation. However, my friend said he could not afford the estimated 250,000 Baht for the operation. The doctor arranged temporary social security coverage for him and he had the operation at no cost to himself. My friend is still alive and kicking. He owes his life to that local doctor's sympathy.

Just to say what happened yesterday our son got a phone call with the cost of the meds, and he paid over the phone ,they had obviously sent them as they arrived today ,the one thing i can say is that 3 months supply of 7 meds was very very cheap, also got a new appointment for 3 months time.
