Been to Samui and Tao many times but have always flown to Samui and the got the fast cat accross to Tao.

This time as I am expecting to be bringing some heavy equipment back I will need to get my car to at least Samui or better yet tao itself.

However I have no idea which ferry to take etc. I will be traveling from Phuket. Anyone got any suggestions?

Best option for Koh Tao is the new Talaysub car ferry. It is based at Thayang pier in Chumpon. Leaves every other day I think. They also have a crane with 2 ton limit if you want to carry something very heavy onto the boat.
