Standard practice is an app on your phone, gets checked by I presume airline and passport control staff

the app must link to the national database in the country of origin. If you mean passport control staff in the departure airport, how do they know which vaccines are ok in each country of the world. If you mean passport control staff in Thailand, how do they link to the vaccine databases of each country.

It might be possible with an Interpol-style data-sharing of vaccine information around the world (I can hear the anti-vaxxers scream), but it's not happening by Nov 1.

So he says 10 countries will open, and mentions 5... what about the other 5 countries? When will people in those countries be notified?  Surely the scandinavian countries must be added.

Seems likely...although China is obviously more important to them. Still mulling over India.... it is all about numbers.

Sure, but that's another story isn't it. btw, at the moment it's going down as a whole.

Well, if you think a short term fix that is overwhelmingly likely to fail, rather than waiting until a much larger proportion of the the population to be fully vaccinatd, particularly in tourist areas, is a good plan, then you're making a good point.

How does this work for non-direct flights? Very few airlines have direct flights to Thailand.  I am afraid it's not so simple to delegate to airlines. Also in terms of being responsible in case the vaccination later turns out to be bogus.

Same as visa requirements already work for connecting flights. Airline staff would check visa requirements for final destination and for any transfers if they require going out through passport control and checking in again. It's not like thai embassies have a reliable way to check if vaccination has really been done either.
