BANGKOK, Sept 27 (TNA) – The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration extended the state of emergency until Nov 30, maintained curfew for 15 more days and allowed music performances at restaurants from Oct 1 onwards.

Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said CCSA approved the relaxation of its COVID-19 disease control measures which would take effect on Oct 1.

CCSA endorsed the reopening of nurseries, libraries, museums, learning centers, manicure shops, tattoo shops, health parlors, massage and spa shops, indoor stadiums, cinemas and eateries with live bands.

Let me get this correct. From Friday, 1st Oct, bands can play in restaurants (without drinkies)

Curfew stops on 15th October, or changes to 9pm to 3 am.

State of emergency goes on until 30th November.

Food and now... a live band. Great.

But still can not order a beer nor a glass of wine.

Naughty naughty boys. It's bad for you.

Perhaps at Christmas, if you behave.

Meanwhile... the only real news that matters : the "emergency decree" is extended to november 30...

But... wait a minute... what "emergency" are we talking about ? Hospitals are overwhelmed by Covid ? Corpses on the streets ?

And what about vaccination ? Not good enough ?

????

What's the goalpost ? The end ? The target ?

Strange, nobody ask those questions.

what about gyms for goodness  sake?

Although most covid deaths occur in people with obesity-associated conditions, there has been no outcry by any health officials about the idea of exercising as a way of lowering the covid health problems.

seems they only have stock in the pharma companies, not any gyms

prevention, no

pharmabucks, yes

Perhaps because we all suspect we know the answer.

For an authoritarian regime, with discredited democratic legitimacy, a growing protest movement in their capital ( political heartland), a legacy of hostility to their rise to power over some 8 years ago within much of the rest of the country and public disenchantment with their performance at a level whereby the manipulation of any electoral process would have to be so widespread as to lead to widespread resistance, a permanent "State of Emergency" is an end to itself.

But if they were to design to offer any answers they would probably include:

1) there is a state of emergency, so under these circumstances it is not practical to hold an election.

2) Due to the state of emergency we shall have to continue in power and rule by decree, but don't worry, we are only doing it for your benefit.

3) Due to the state of emergency it will prove necessary to control and curtail any opposition movements. We must all pull together for the benefit of Thailand.

4) Does anyone know where we can get any more shipping containers?
