New Passport number in Blue Book

My passport is near the end of its days and I'm getting a new one.  I see the blue book has the pp number so I guess that has to be changed. Would appreciate info on this process, docs needed etc. My car has Bangkok plates but I live in Chon Buri and did so when I bought it. Do you think I can do the update at the Chonburi transport office, or do I have to go to Bangkok? Thanks.

I thought Chonburi was in the bay of Bangkok.

I wouldn't be bothered about changing it myself because your new passport will have your old passport number written in it when you go to immigration.

 

I you may have to change it when you get your passport renewed again. ????

 

If you had a yellow book that number goes the blue/green book and so no bother.
