best if you check with the airline

They point me to a website that doesn't actually say anything, and calling Air Asia is impossible

Yes, been there, to be honest I do not have much faith in flights flying on time at the moment. Have had 3 Nok air flights cancelled and moved to different days in two cases and have had Thai Air move the flight date by 2 days. This was over the May 2021 to end of July 2021 time frame. As for PCR test, I do not think you need one but hopefully you have been vaccinated and have the Hospital certificate which would be wise to carry with you when traveling. You can get a “yellow book” vaccine passport which costs 50Baht and lasts for 1 year, but that is for overseas travel.

I'm flying tomorrow to Don Mueang from Chiang Rai.

Only vaccine certificate needed. No PCR test required.

4 days ago i went from CR to BKK using Viet Jet, no one asked me for any vaccine certificate, on my next flight to Ubon Thai Smile required the cert.

Actually, they didn't ask for anything at the airport.

Just passport.
