After a high blood pressure result, I went all in over 2 years ago and I'm down to 20.5 BMI. You need commitment. And forget the idea about your metabolism slowing down: that's not science, it's not a thing. Metabolism only really slows down over 60 years old and not even by much. I run (not jog) 8km every 2 days. Build yourself up to this. Start with babysteps: 1 slow jog of 5km per week. Lots of running Apps to help you build up. I find this so easy now that the next day I feel nothing. I don't eat for 18 hours. Eat within a 6 hour time period only. If you have a pretty sedentary life, you only need one meal a day. So stop eating at 6pm and next eat at 12pm. But splash out on it. So long as the body enters "famine mode" for 3 or so hours a day (it kicks in around 15 hours of not eating), then you're cutting away that fat. You'll feel high when you enter famine mode. It just feels great. During the 18 hour period, only water, tea (no milk/sugar), coffee (no milk/sugar). Or herb teas. No sugar. This is your true enemy. Substitutes work with a lot of people (e.g. Stevia). You can buy no-sugar chocolate, no-sugar sweets, no-sugar ice cream etc. But even these you should probably not take during the 18 hour famine period (the science is out on this). No alcohol. Except say once a week. You'll need to control hunger pangs. Drink Japanese Green Tea. That will kill your hunger. Fill your stomach with water. Drink hot ginger. Every morning, do a bit of weightlifting in your bedroom and around 100 press-ups and sit-ups. You'll start to lose body fat rapidly. You'll find getting below 17.5% body fat is extremely challenging but the first few kgs will be surprisingly easy. Buy a body fat/BMI/muscle weight measurement machine. They're dirt cheap. You will feel massively more energetic and sleep better. And girls will be hitting on you, and your wife will be angry and try to get you fat again. Best overall advice given here. Although I disagree with the "metabolism doesn't slow", and the Running. Sprints are fine...but also be aware you are beating the hello out of your knees. It works great, but there is a price to pay. So, it's a choice there. Replace with resistance training at a gym while in fasted state imho. If you can replace dairy...do it. Almond milk is really quite tasty replacement. It will help. Skim milk is not better than whole milk in most studies either. So drink your whole if you are gonna drink it. Reason is, proper fats and proteins are your friends in health and diet. Sugar is truly the devil, and a root cause of many later in life health problems. Stevia and that is helpful at first...but I find they cause hunger desires to pop, and truly aren't TOO helpful in satisfying me. But this is personal opinion. (I do use it on french toast if I splurge on carbs). For my sweet tooth, I keep around dark chocolate that is over 80% caoco. AND I have a protein shake I find enjoyable that is only 1 carb and 120 calories. So I can have these as I please (and they take care of hunger). That's another item...eliminate carbs as much as possible. Bread, pizza, rice, pasta. etc. At least during your weight loss period. it is much easier to maintain weight than lose weight. But that doesn't mean lose all the good habits once you reach desired goal. If you can...and this is a bit of mental torture for some...fast for 3 days. KIlo's will melt off. It's actually beneficial health wise too. Do 36 hour fast once a week too (til you get where you want). It's not calorie deficit. It's total fasting save water and black coffee if you want. When fasting your body will burn fAT for fuel. If you feed it even a little, it stops the fat burning. So if you do it , go all in for that period of time you are fasting. Eating everyday for 6 hours should not be considered "starving yourself" Your labido will increase naturally during all this too. You'll find more energy, and clearer head. Choose when YOU like to eat best. Some people like morning eating better. Some like the afternoon like this quoted poster. I prefer fasting til 2;30, then workout, then come home and eat BIG healthy meal. nap. Eat more after (but usually less healthy foods for my enjoyment...but I've already filled my belly pretty good). So Im not eating til 5pm or after this way. This way I can always be social and go out to dinner with others, and I can have alcohol (not beer) as it's in my calorie window. It does not affect me at all. And I can eat/drink til I go to bed basically. However, I don't recommend during losing fat period of the dieting. Goodluck man. If all this is too complicated...plain old fasting is simple . Works faster than anything, is healthy... SUPER simple...Just not easy. Althought losing kilos quick helps change your mindset pretty fast ???? 2

WhiteBuffaloATM
not living “like this” once over 60 -65, invariably means poor quality health / life ( gut, out of breath, low energy, low mood) and reliance on genetics , medical tech. & getting no cancers / diabetes, for a long miserable life. i couldnt live like THAT. at least change DIET by following NO Rule; Sugar,Drugs, Alcohol, Smoking, Junk Food, Stress, Snacks,Grain, Carbs,Red Meat.Do No Harm. Then easy to add Deep Sleep, Plenty Water, Fasting. After losing 10 kg consider EXERCISE (Cardio); Beach Walking, Gym Bike…easy. With Less Weight & High Energy, then move on to Home Body Weight Resistance Work ( Push Ups, Leg Lifts, Planks, NEVER Sit Ups). 1

I would have thought the same. But the fasting changes your feelings about it. The buzz of energy I get and feelings of constant elation are so strong, and I know from experience that drinking the alcohol will immediately dampen these effects, so I generally avoid the alcohol. I'll do it to be sociable but I don't crave it. By fasting in the morning, I'm much more alert, less sleepy, more active, more positive. The recovery from running nowadays is so quick that I sometimes forget I ran a couple of hours before. To go back to 3 meals a day and minimum exercise is a horrifying thought.

Popular Post Walker88
Fat always puzzles me. I see so many foreigners waddling around Bangkok and Pattaya with waists I figure must be 50 inches/125 cm or more. Their walking is labored, and I would guess the fat came first and led to the labored gait, as the weight puts extra stress on joints. These guys did not go to bed one night a svelte 180 lbs./~80kg on a 185 cm frame and wake the next day at 125 kg. That takes a lot of conscious (lack of) effort to get that obese. Do folks not see it happening? Why do so many wait so long to even consider taking action? I guess most simply do not care. Up to them. It's a lot easier to lose 1 kilo than 50, however, should their attitude change. Also, it cannot be pleasant toting around all that blubber. Hearing some young woman say 'what a hunk' means a hunk of blubber, not a Brad Pitt look-alike. It's not so hard to stay in shape. Get a routine. Get disciplined. Wean one's self from junk food. People develop a taste and an appetite for what becomes familiar. Make healthy food familiar and that is what one will crave. Sugar is a killer in many ways, including being fuel for cancer and a cause of premature aging (Harvard and Stanford Med School research). Get off the couch. Walk up stairs. Hit the gym. Yes, gym work can be boring, but it has mulitiple benefits, including in the bedroom. Aggressive weight training---again, new research---not only enhances bone strength, but also slows aging, as powerful movements release HGH. A one hour workout, with maybe 90 seconds between sets, is optimal both for HGH and testosterone. Somewhat surprising, new research suggests that there is such a thing as too much cardio. Cardio seems to produce free radicals, and too much cardio can result in the body's inability to neutralize so many. The body seems to respond to physical stress (not emotional stress that releases cortisol) by steeling itself up, perhaps for 'flight'. Extremes of cold and heat, one after the other, can be a good thing. Many skin treatments are based on hurting the outer layer, as that promotes collagen production. There's more research to be done, but it bears watching. Intermittent fasting---hard at first, easy over time---sends the body into autophagy, clearing out senescent cells and actually promoting cell repair, which itself is anti-aging (as cells that reproduce with errors are part of what aging is). Billionaire Boomers, who seem to want to outlive their vast fortunes, are funding much of this research. Lots of 'accepted wisdom' has been shown to be in error. One doesn't have to be a billionaire to benefit from what they are funding. Diet is most closely linked to weight, while exercise and fasting are linked to slowing down aging. A modest goal is not necessary immortality, but rather maximizing one's 'healthspan', which is the number of years one stays in proper shape.
