Anyone else over 75 looking for health insurance specifically covering covid. It seems impossible or super expensive. If anyone has any ideas please let me know

Yes, we are flying to Phuket in early March for a one month holiday. Already booked the flights but reading about insurance looks like a really big obstical being over 75. Cheers

Currently the arrival dates don't go past December but this website says they'll insure people up to 99 years old.

Note: the new entry requirements state 'Health Insurance' which suggests a broader field but there's been no explanation of exactly what that means and nobody's reported back on it yet.  The above is I believe, Covid specific.

AXA (thailand) do a range of products that would meet your requirements - I had a quick look and didn't see any age limit but check.

Edit:   I did a dummy run from 1 March to 31 March as a 65 year old and got a quote - changed the age to 75 - no quote. You could email them though.

Actually then the answer is NO - you are not having to meet O-A visa requirements. O-A is a special long-stay visa for people retiring in Thailand. You are looking to meet the entry requirement for $50K health cover that includes (but is nto limited to) COVID. A big difference.

It is possible this requirement will have changed or been removed by March, and if not, there will likely be more products on the market than is currently the case.

COVID-only policies such as one poster recommended above will not, to my understanding, meet the requirement.  The companies that offered them have nto yet revised their products to meet the new requirements, but they may in future.

Otherwise google travel insurance for seniors and add in the search the country where you live, as this makes a difference.  If from Australia, see thsi one, available to age 99  https://www.covermore.com.au/travel-insurance/seniors-travel-insurance/faqs

Clearly states "Age: 1- 74 year upon the policy start date"

Obviously not clear enough for me ????

Which I did point out.
