Simple question re the filter screens found inside the wall-mounted units...can they be washed and reused or do they have to be replaced with new ones?

I take them out and wash them every 3-4 months and pop them back in. Can this be done indefinitely?

Yes , you can wash them as often as you like , until they start to disintegrate .

My unit has a little red light that comes on after a certain number of hours,

warning me to clean the filters.

Without that every 2-3 months should be fine.

I cleaned them by banging them on the wall outside. Don't do that. :o They break, and then it took forever to source replacements (Daikin). So that's one more reason to never want Daikin again (they also suck generally. :D Only Mitsubishi from now on.
