COVID-19: Thailand reports 7,057 new coronavirus cases, 55 deaths, 7,393 recoveries

Thailand on Saturday (November 13) reported 7,057 new COVID-19 cases, 7,393 recoveries and 55 additional deaths over the past 24 hours. 

 

▶︎ Total infections since April 1: 1,982,468

▶︎ Total recoveries since since April 1: 1,868,503

 

Saturday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 2,011,331 with 19,989 deaths.

 

The news comes as The government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration still requires RT-PCR tests on visitors instead of replacing them with antigen tests.

 

CCSA spokesman Dr. Thaweesilp Visanuyothin said the center had not replaced RT-PCR tests with antigen tests for its screening process on visitors yet. The center was studying the possibility.

Health officials on Friday (Nov-12th) reported 91 new COVID-19 cases, 14 were found in Hua Hin, Elsewhere in the province, 30 cases were found in Pranburi, 9 cases in Sam Roi Yot, 3 cases in Kuiburi, 4 cases found in Thap Sakae, 13 cases in Bang Saphan, 6 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 12 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan. One death was report today. 74-year-old, Thai woman who lived in Wong Pong district, Pran Buri, where she had a congenital disease and was not vaccinated.

Todays numbers show a slight uptick in the daily number of deaths reported but the weekly trend has fallen by 17% with the official number of recoveries once again exceeding the number of new cases. 
 

Latest up to to date official data from the worldometer ranking table for deaths/million of population over the past 7 days, including yesterday’s numbers, shows Thailand up 2 places at 70th in the world, 22 places below the UK.

 

Same table shows Thailand up one place  at 14th in Asia, 3 places below the Philippines and 2 places above Vietnam. 
 

The number of deaths over the past week remained very low at 6 deaths/million of population, trending down 17% over the 7 day period, with the number of official infections falling 9%. .

Yes because that would make things far to simple as it would also logically do away with the need for the SHA+ hotel booking for the night.

 

No lets ruin the hope's of any large numbers of tourists booking for the peak season by extending the closure of bars and entertainment venues till mid Jan. The carrot and stick working well with all the business owners & staff too, dangle then snatch it away.

That does not indicate where the all of the 94,413k are at.  Do the math @Olmate........ Those numbers leave 6,403 unaccounted in the totals, so where are those folks?

It was why I asked the question as rhetorical as it may be.  The numbers rarely actually add up.  I was wondering/thinking that maybe those numbers are of folks being treated either in the prisons, the bubble and sealed locations, or the refugee camps.  Just looking for a little more clarity even though for many they are just numbers and the cases counts and deaths are all that matter.

 

It is just like the recent numbers of arrivals through the Test N Go program with TAT saying one number but then the MOPH saying a different number.  It would be nice to get truthful numbers, but alas that has never been accomplished.  One wonders about the numbers of vaccinated only to fond out that the total 100 million they expected to complete by the end of the year will also include 3rd booster jabs and 4th jabs.....just a game to them it seems.  Enjoy your weekend.

Wow.Thats a lot 'numbers'to be concerned about. I.m sure the actual patients referred to in those numbers are all accounted for and receiving good care.

Sign of things to come in Thailand? The CCSA today in its slide presented this one, translating into how Austria's cases are surging and the restrictions its putting on its people who have not been vaccinated.

Agree, numbers should always be checked, believing those put out hook line and sinker by officials really just shows how little one knows about how officials manipulate figures to suit the narrative. Plenty of examples of where this has happened as you mentioned, bubble and seal, mass quarantine from factories etc, we never found out the real numbers on those as they were never published.

 

The gross human rights violations in the locked up workers camps in the second wave in April where they let them infect themselves to create herd immunity was highlighted many times by NGO's and the same went on in Bangkok at the start of the third wave.

 

In this case the figure is mentioned in the official dashboard but its in Thai so I have no clue what it says?

Don't you want accurate data from your government?  Isn't your side of this conversation always arguing that the numbers ARE accurate, and we should believe the numbers?  How can we believe them, when there are clear discrepancies, as have been pointed out?

 

If the patients were truly accounted for, the numbers would all add up.  Basic Accounting 101.

Has anyone ever done the math?  Take todays numbers as the numbers recovered far exced the numbers of new infections,  and its almost daily a few hundred more recovered than new cases, so with the numbers daily having been far more recovered daily than new cases, then how can there still be positive amount of cases?  There should actually  be a negative  number of cases now that the number of new cases are far less daily than the larger of the two numbers being the number recovered for months now.
