Hanoi advised to brace for colder weather

A cold spell is set to sweep through northern Vietnam before moving south, bringing some rain and pushing temperatures in the capital city down by around eight degrees.

 

Starting Sunday evening, a mass of cold air would begin impacting mountainous areas in northern Vietnam before moving on to other northern localities starting Monday morning, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

 

Temperatures would drop in northern Vietnam starting Sunday night, with mountainous areas at 10-17 degrees Celsius, dipping further to around 8 degrees Celsius at higher altitudes.
