Tourism ministry to improve tourism businesses’ adaptability while retaining Thai identity

BANGKOK (NNT) - The tourism sector is starting to show signs of a gradual recovery, owing to the reopening of the country to international tourists on November 1. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports views the development positively, as tourism revenue is important for the dissipation of income into localities. Thailand will now need to keep its sight set on restoring the tourism industry into a primary driver of its economy.

    PHUKET: Phuket Provincial Police have defended their officers standing in front of a restaurant in Patong after a post online accused police of “destroying tourism” and quoting foreign tourists as being “robbed”.

    Thailand signs ฿500m deal to buy 50,000 courses of Molnupiravir COVID-19 medication

    Thailand’s Medical Services Department signed a 500-million baht deal with MSD (Thailand) today (Thursday) to buy 50,000 courses of Merck’s Molnupiravir (Lagevrio) oral anti-viral medication for the treatment of COVID-19 infections.

    CIMB foresees continued growth for Thai economy

    Commerce Ministry encouraging businesses to take advantage of FTAs

    BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand currently observes 14 Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with 18 countries, with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) being its latest FTA and scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2022. The Ministry of Commerce is now encouraging businesses to take advantage of the FTAs, and is looking to hold online business matching between Thai producers of processed food and agricultural goods and Chinese importers.

    Photographer arrested for alleged sexual assault of beauty pageant contestants
