webfact
File photo: REUTERS Thailand on Monday (November 29) reported 4,753 new COVID-19 cases, 6,165 recoveries and 27 additional deaths over the past 24 hours. ▶︎ Infections outside prisons: 4,696. Prisons: 57 ▶︎ Recoveries: 6,165 ▶︎ Total infections since April 1: 2,082,703 ▶︎ Total recoveries since since April 1: 1,985,595 Monday’s cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections in Thailand to 2,111,566 with 20,734 deaths. The news comes as Europe is now experiencing a resurgence of COVID-19 outbreaks, notably in Austria, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Italy. In Thailand, respected public health figures are also expressing concerns about a potential resurgence of outbreaks in December amidst cooler weather and increased movement of people. Prof. Prasit Watanapa, the dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, explained that the World Health Organization is highly concerned about the spread of Covid in Europe at the moment and warned that 500,000 deaths could be incurred by March unless urgent action is taken. He said studies show that outbreaks on one continent will spread to other continents in due course, but the death rate will be less than last year as the majority of people have been vaccinated. Popular Post dinsdale
Be interesting to see how Omicron variant goes. It's seems to be dominant over Delta which may be a good thing if it turns out to be milder and vaccines protect against it as far as serious illness goes. Delta out competed Beta which has basically disappeared will Omicron do the same to Delta. Vaccinating the entire world is the way out otherwise variants will continue to emerge. I said this months ago. Edited November 29, 2021 by dinsdale 3
Popular Post ThailandRyan
Today as a Monday the numbers have dipped below 5k for actual reported cases, and the totals of all cases are slightly above the 6k range, which is the lowest in many months. It is and can be seen as favorable but then my concern is the actual numbers tested. Are they being true and transparent is the question we must ask ourselves. Switching gears and in light of recent developments starting in SA. My view is that you can be pretty assured that this variant can now be found pretty much everywhere. If they started to test more here and do the genomic sequencing they may surprise themselves. However, with prior years (prior to 2020) viruses, It has been like this everywhere this time of year in the west and can be said it is because of winter that all viruses mutate and spread no matter if it is Covid, a common cold virus or flu-like viruses. It is why every year boosters are created to be given to the vulnerable. Make the vaccines that are needed and get them out to those that are needing them, stop playing the games that these governments are and lets get on with life. looking back over the years I have watched as folks refuse to be vaccinated and take the proper precautions. If they insist on not being vaccinated, like they have in the past, well the deaths will increase, just like they did prior to Covid. Canada has now found its first cases of Omicron, and as I stated at the beginning of my post I am sure it is already pretty much everywhere, it was not known because genomic testing was not being done on a large scale. https://globalnews.ca/news/8408492/canada-omicron-variant-covid/ Canada has detected its first two cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant. A statement from Ontario’s Ministry of Health confirmed that cases of the variant, recently declared as the novel coronavirus’ fifth variant of concern by the WHO, have been identified in Ontario. “Today, the province of Ontario has confirmed two cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Ottawa, both of which were reported in individuals with recent travel from Nigeria. Ottawa Public Health is conducting case and contact management and the patients are in isolation,” read the statement Sunday.

Probably a wise move until more is known: The only certain thing about international travel is that there is no certainty. According to a source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CCSA may follow the UK to reverse their decision to change the RT-PCR testing to ATK. We should get more information about this soon. https://twitter.com/RichardBarrow/status/1465121528429703168

The two camps closest to Mae Hong Son don't fit the two hour driving description. Is it outside the system? Also the camps do not look like the photo.
