Pattaya: Cancer sufferer, inspiring "Khru Kee" completes long swim to mark Father's Day

A teacher called Khru Kee who is suffering from cancer completed a notable 23 kilometer swim from Pattaya to Bang Saray to mark Thai Father's Day yesterday.

 

Local administration chief Chaiwat Inanong was on hand with many other dignitaries and organisations to meet the lady - real name Wisaruta - who is raising awareness about cancer.

She completed the swim in 7 hours. 

 

She wanted to do it on Father's Day in memory of the much revered and departed monarch King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Chaiwat called her an inspiration and praised the help of the Thai navy, reported Daily News. 

 

The teacher fronts an organisation working under the project called "One Starts the (others) follow".
