Driver’s arm broken in road rage incident in Thonburi

Two Thai drivers both admitted they were in the wrong after a road rage incident on a bridge in the early hours of the morning in Thonburi west of the Thai capital Bangkok yesterday.

Trouble had flared as Surayan, 34, in an Accord and Adisak, 43, in a Fiesta with his seven year old daughter duelled it out in their cars on the highway cutting in front of each other.

After a two kilometer bit of vehicular argy-bargy the Accord was forced to the side after the driver claimed he was hit four or five times.

He said he got out to inquire what that was all about and after a spell of mutual shoving the older man then got a two foot long tire iron out of his boot and broke his arm in two places.

When he started to call the police the Fiesta driver fled, he claimed.

At 11 am Surayan filed a complaint with Samrae police who caught up with Adisak at 2 pm.

They both blamed each other for starting it but have both admitted they were in the wrong.

Police have charged no one yet though both are likely to be charged with negligent driving.

The assault charge against Adisak will rest on doctors' reports.

Adisak claimed he felt threatened by Surayan as he got out of his car and was only defending himself with the tire iron.

He further claimed that he didn't flee - he had to take his daughter to hospital as she was hurt in the incident.

Dash cam would be interesting to see.

It was on the news. The guy with the tyre iron is a nutter and was the instigator.

And is a father and a fine example to his daughter who witnessed him 'defending' himself after driving like an offended 5 year old. But then, anyone is allowed to be a parent. No qualifications needed, including a sense of responsibility. Is there even a word for responsibility in Thai, as I've rarely seen it in action.

Him feeling threatened will clearly show on the dash cam (and I’m sure it’s total BS).

Typical Thai patent showing that life is all about them . His daughter is hurt and needs medical attention but him saving face takes precedence. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t an every day occurrence here.

Duelling it out with a 7yr old in the car, was it his driving? and her not wearing a seat belt and most likely sitting in the front that caused her to get 'hurt' ?  Then drove with a broken arm !  Idiot !
