Thai court stays order denying free emergency treatment of side effects of vaccines purchased at private hospitals

On Friday, the Thai Central Administrative Court ordered a stay of the Ministry of Public Health order, which excludes people who suffer side effects after being inoculated with alternative COVID-19 vaccines at private hospitals from eligibility for free emergency medical treatment.

The court’s stay, which is enforceable until withdrawn by the court, follows a lawsuit filed against the Public Health Ministry by an independent lawyer, Ratchaphol Panthongphan.

In the lawsuit, Ratchaphol told the court that, as a citizen, he is eligible for free medical treatment from the state in the prevention or treatment of dangerous communicable diseases.

All vaccinations administered or sold in Thailand have been passed by the Thai FDA. And in fact all vaccinations available at private hospitals have been purchased via a government agency at the government's command (it's why they are so late, because allegedly Anutin held up the paperwork) slimy toads they are!

Welcome news... and a slap for the government.

Wow. The regime seems to have declared a full-on war against private/paid vaccinations. (See anutins loopy comments from yesterday.)

No clue why they're being so belligerent. Private/paid vaccines take the load off the government.

It's really strange, and I struggle to understand the rationale. Unless it's all about face?

All I got from the article is that there are severe side effects to the vaccines, that actually need emergency treatment...

Good luck to you'll

as there a little chance for corruption by the government officials in the private vax program, they do oppose it.

They can count on kickbacks from manufacturers/distributors on governmental purchases.

They can even corrupt donated ones - pfizer from the usa government was/is offered for 25k for 2 vials by top health ministry workers, same with stealing booster jabs from nurses and doctors at the bhumipol military hospital in bangkok (waiting list was falsified). One of the first transports of those pfizer was done under cover of night, to buriram province (the stronghold of political mafia).

The priority for the health ministry is certainly not health, but personal gains.

The leader off the opposition, thanatorn, was charged with multiple counts of lese majeste for exposing wrongdoing of health ministry.

Lets see how the situation develops with this court order, how long would it last

But no slap for the vaccine manufacturers.

Unless you're a farang.

I believe that private hospital injection's price includes insurance against adverse effect.  I could be wrong.

Perhaps.

Yet, give it time - this writ will be reversed, ignored nor followed through.

After all......it's all about the health and well being of the people. ????????

I don't understand why this is shocking news. Do people expect free health care? The government administered jabs comes with a built in insurance policy (to build confidence). If you get a jab from a private hospital, expect THEM to take care of you. If they don't want to give you that insurance, well.. that is the risk you take if you still want a private jab.
