The family of a secondary schoolgirl and her teachers went to the Non Thai police in Nakhon Ratchasima after she was sucked into an online betting scam.

The M5 girl (this is the fifth year of secondary school) was on Facebook when she got a friend request.

This turned out to be a person she added who said she could get huge rewards by investing little in a Baccarat game.

The contact said 300 baht would turn into 4-5,000 baht in next to no time.

She then added the person on the Line app and when they said she was now due 8,900 baht she agreed to pay 900 baht as a fee to "release the funds", reported Daily News.

Other excuses followed until she had racked up debts of 20,700 with family to try and reclaim her initial investment.

She got nothing back.

M5 girl should go back and start again in M1 !!

"Baccarat" and "investment" in the same sentence, what could possibly go wrong!

I asked my wife the Thai word for "investment." She said "lottery."

Anyone got the link for this?

Unless this girl had a job at a 7/11 or similar that provided the extraction of 20,000 + can only mean her parent/s enabled the scam by being equally gullible !

So many people gambling online..  they don’t understand it’s like throwing money in an empty pit...

You gamble, you lose, then you go to the police to complain. Moron!
